Persons who experience childhood abuse often experience a range of difficulties, from emotional disturbance to problems making and keeping friends. My approach to working with adult survivors is to help you build the skills necessary to live a more fulfilling and effective life by understanding and gaining control of your emotions, building healthy and supportive relationships and then addressing difficulties specific to traumatic incidents that you have experienced.
In our work together we will build these skills while piecing together your life story and increasing our understanding of what makes you you. For trauma work in particular, I believe it is important that this work is carried out in a secure therapeutic relationship and a safe environment to make sure that our time and work together is the most helpful that it can be.
